Who's put some miles on their BMR k-member?
I'm interested in a BMR k-member for my LSx swap, but 99% of what I read about on here is for the spohn k-member.
Anybody had a BMR for a while that they care to comment on? did you zip-tie your brake line or did you come up with a better method? How low is the k-member compared to the oil pan?

We have hundreds of the k members out on the road. The k member was designed around the 98-02 4th gen ls motor and pan. We have had no failures of this k member. If you have any questions please give me a call.

And to the OP, I have been using BMR parts for a while now. Quality, fit, and finish are awesome, and I'll be getting thier K-member and torque arm soon as well. Good luck!

Subscribing. Looking into this k-member as well when I upgrade my 5.3 to a 408. can stock a-arms bolt into this k-member or are the tubular a-arms required?

I have had my BMR K-Member for 4 years now and I have no problems with the parts at all. I did zip tie the brake line on the bottom bar. On my zz4 I have about 1 inch of clearance between the oil pan and K-member

Hello, you will need to up grade to our a arms if you use our k member. However our tubular a arms will bolt on to a factory k member. Hope that answers your question.

Re: Who's put some miles on their BMR k-member?
Not Sure if what you want is out there. I belive that there is no racks that will work with the spindals and still give you a good turning radius. I think somebody makes drop spindles with shorter steering arms to alow you to use a rack but I'm not sure. I would recamend doing a lot more research before you decide on a rack and pinnion setup. I heard most of them are recamended for drag use only. Anyhow if you want more info on that I recomend starting you're own thread or doing a search. as this is getting off topic pretty quick.

Re: Who's put some miles on their BMR k-member?
those appleton racks don't work very well at all. There are a few board members that have used them with very poor results. I researched it before I went with my manual setup. From what I remember everybody that had them said they were junk and got rid of them. If you do a search on the power rack subject you will find that certain year ford t bird racks have the right throw distance for a third gen so you would just need to make brackets to hold the rack. If your looking for a bolt on only powersteering rack your not going to find one. I wound up with a flaminging river pinto rack, PA racing k member and racecraft drop spindles with shorter arms for the rack. My car won't be done till spring but so far from pushing it around the shop with a motor and trans in it steering effort isn't too bad.
