LCA Mounting Brackets?

Has anyone ever heard of Lower Control Arm mounting brackets, that bolt/weld to the uni-body frame where the LCA'S attach too? Its to replace/reinforce the existing mounting locations. I was told by a guy whose going to weld my Sub-frames in that I should get them, or even fabracate them. I'm not talking about the LCA brackets that mount to the axle.

Re: LCA Mounting Brackets?

never heard of them, but many subframe connectors sandwich to the LCA mount with the lca bolt, so if you dont have SFC's, get them, and it will also accomplish you idea of the LCA mount reinforcement.

AS far as the mount needing extra support, unless its rotted off, it doesn need it. The guy is probably think about torque box reinforcement that common on mustangs. The majority of the axle torque is on the torque arm.

Re: LCA Mounting Brackets?

Hello
No! If you read he is talking about the chassis side. And the only way is to reinforce the mounting locations on the chassis is to look into SFC because they have the reinforcement for the control arms and also support the whole chassis as well. Below is a link to show you what I am explaining.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help!
Thanks
Brad

Re: LCA Mounting Brackets?

I guess I should have said its where the upper part of the LCA'S attach to the unibody/frame. I already have aftermarket lca's,torque arm, lca relocation brackets, and subframe connectors.

Still can't see it in my head but anyone with a welder can help ya.
You can get small heavy plates of metal at any hardware store.

Though from what your saying, sounds like anyone with a welder n simple tools could do what ya need. paint or coat fancy for looks.

so which SFC do you have?

the way to reinforce this area you are talking about has already been covered in my earlier post, and still, i dont find it necessary.

Re: LCA Mounting Brackets?

Since where the subject of sub frame connectors, I find when I put my ROC up on jack stands using the subs for the support. I find that if I put them up at max. height all but the passenger front side will sit level. I have to use a taller jack stand to balance it out. Does this mean my frame is bent. When the car is on all 4 tires it does not appear to sag. And the doors close well also.
