back halving an 88 firebird

Im in the process , of tubing out and back halving my 88 firbird. putting in competition engineering formed rails center drop cross member and weld in subs, a competition engineering standard 4 link suspension , and competition engineering , triangulated axil housing for 9in ford , wondering if anyone else has done this and if they can help me with recommended location on hight of 4link frame mounts , (front 4 link brackets to rocker panel hight) to come up with basic stock body ride height .
Also having trouble determining how to set in diff housing (competition engineering) it has off set centre section mount ,so is there a spool to allow for same length axils , with centering pinion to body , or do i still have to off set my axil housing (pinion) and have differant axil housing tube lengths to use same length axils . i sure would appreciate any help or advice anyone could give..thanks..

Re: back halving an 88 firebird

get up with stephen, i think is name is 86 iroc or something like that. he can usually be found in the drag board. he done a custom 4-link to his car a while back. sorry im no help other than that, i have the sw kit made for the car already so mine was fairly simple. oops just noticed he changed his name to alkyiroc.

When I built my diff, I centered the pinion so one axle is longer than the other.

Re: back halving an 88 firebird

hey thanks so much ,i kinda figured thats what I should do ,due to the way comp engineering designed the rear diff housing, but im a green horn at this whole bracket racing thing yet , only one season so far..so i really appreciate the help..have to say i like your little title on your pic, all engine no power adders..im a mechanic myself and appreciate a bracket car that the engine its self is whats making the power..you have a very sweet ride there btw...
