attachment issues

attachment issues

How should I fasten the smaller bars to the larger one?
I dont really want to crimp the end down to bolt it because that seems like it would be too weak and flex.I was thinking of welding a tab on both pieces and bolting them together that way. Like the third picture but smaller.

not like they are laying in the pics, but cut and fishmouth the ends and weld them together. A lot cleaner and easier than trying to fab up a bolt together deal
