E/S poly mounts in clamshells
Does anyone remember what size drill bit they used to drill out the rivets to separate the clamshell halves for the installation of Energy Suspension motor mounts?
As a point of note, I got the clamshells from advance auto a few years back, I was going to replace one of them as it is a PITA to remove the old one from the k member (I changed to a tubular one). i picked a new one up yesterday frome advance auto, what a difference! the new one is made in CHINA, the metal is half as thick, the rivets are non-existant (top piece is just stamped thru the bottom and hammered over!), the bracing design is clearly inferior, and external dimensions are different (the new one is 3/8" to 1/2" taller. the newer mount weighs at least 1/2 pound less than the old one due to the thinner metal. I'll be returning the new one.
Let the Buyer Beware!
