How can I make the tires hook on my Grand Prix Gbody? Same Q for my Formula as well

My Formula hooks BETTER than my Grand Prix, due to the much lower torque output of the 355 versus the 500,and the fact that it has a working posi, boxed LCA's and lowering bars, but both my cars suck BADLY from a stoplight race. This is especially horrid on my 500cid Grand Prix, it has a 2.56 geared open rearend, a factory torque rating of 510, and my GOD does it spin them like mad any time I gas it between a stop up to and including 35mph, its really bad. Its almost like there is something really wrong with the suspension. i leave rubber at nearly every corner in my GP un-intentionally and a slight twitch from a roll will light them up. At first I thought it was cool but now its starting to SUCK big time. I raced a 440 Charger on Speedway and he was dead even with me until 30 mph only because I was spinning, then I blew by him, had I had some traction the race would have been over before it even started practically It doesn't suck because of tire costs ( I get screaming tire deals from a a local junkyard), but because its a mid 12 second car with high 13 second traction! I realize this is a broad question that I've probably asked before, and so has someone else, but nobody seems to really address the problem, everybody with quick drag strip cars tell me your EXACT suspension setups, shocks, tires, everything.

Nice car: 1988 Formula 355, mildly ported/polished Vortec heads, RPM intake, Comp Cams Extreme 268 cam, 650 Holley double pumper, 5-speed/3.73 Richmond gears, and N02 on the way
Old 1/4mile: 13.5@105mph

Evil Car: 78 Pontiac Grand Prix, 500inch caddy motor, edlebrock intake, 600 holley, B@M TH350 tranny, 16inch Iroc-Z rims, blacked out chrome, soon to run 10's...

There's no replacement for displacement!

factory torque rating of 510..good god that's insane...I'm surprised you're having that much trouble with spinning them with such incredibly low gears (2.56)...posi would obviously help some, but not a whole heck of a lot I would think...honestly, the only thing you can do with THAT much power is get a humungous tire for it and work on the suspension...traction bars or something like that...500ftlbs is borderline overkill for the street...still cool as hell though
