i have an 89GTA with disc rear brakes (borg warner 3.27 posi).. i failed inspection today. my E-brake will not hold the car in drive at idle. i tightened the cable adjuster (above the drive shaft) and i replaced the brake pads, i think i *ucked up cause i used a c-clamp.can i still get the e-brake to work? but b4 i replaced the pads, it didint grab! i also adjusted a small allen screw on the caliper that was mentioned in the manual, but still will not hold the car at idle! what am i missing what do u suggest? i have 3 days till my temps run out thank for the info

 

i have an "82Z which has an 89GTA disc rear w/BW 3.27. and i have the same problem. i also did the c clamp thing. i have two tiny springs on each rear caliper that do not appear to be hooked to anything. i think i also need more advice than "the book" can provide. thanx,ANDYZ28

 

I have the same problem and could't find a way to make it works.Even my mechanic failed in is attemp to make it works.

take a look at the topic "Anyone who is having rear disc problems..." Theres seems to be alot of us having trouble with this setup. Im ready to give up
