Solid suspension
NHRA has just announced that in the 2001 rulebook all Sportsman, Pro and Superpro cars will a wheelbase of 100 inches or longer may now use rigid suspension to make the rule book more consistant with Super Gas/Super Comp cars.
Since the third gen's are 101 inches I would qualify. What kind of changes would I need to convert my rear suspension to solid and be strong enough for drag racing? I would assume the shocks and springs would go and some sort of solid rod would replace them. Perhaps an adjustable length rod in the shock positions so rear height could be adjusted.
Steve Spohn: Could you come up with something that would work?
------------------
Stephen's racing page
87 IROC-Z Pro ET Bracket Race Car and knocking on the SuperPro ET class
383 stroker (carbed) with double hump cast iron heads and pump gas
LS6 Big Block buildup now in progress
Best results before the engine blew up
Best ET on a time slip: 11.857
Best corrected ET: 11.163
Best MPH on a time slip: 117.87
Best corrected MPH: 126.10
Best 60 foot: 1.662
Racing at 3500 feet elevation but most race days it's over 5000 feet density altitude!
