I just re-did my motor and trany mounts with Energy Suspnsion stuff, in the process of installing my new SLP headers, be sure and read in the general engine section where not to raise your engine, under dented oil pan. Anyway the rear trany mount was busted, explains the rear end movement when I punched it. I installed the new mount and centered it. Now when the car is sitting there, the passenger side is higher than the drivers, the end of the tranny was pointed to the drivers side rear wheel when I initially looked at it. Could I have twisted some of the linkage (the panhard bar) and now its out of whack?

If you removed the panhard bar, yeah, you could've introduced a pre-load (twist) in the bushings. The bar should be installed with the car in the air, but not torqued down. The car should be lowered down to the ground, then final torque should be given to the panhard bolts/nuts. Same with the anti-sway bars, and rear control arms.

If it's hard to get under the car, you can put jack stands under the rear axle- the weight of the car would be on the axle (same as being on the tires). The problem is when those bolts are tightened as the car's axle is just hanging in space.

Are your motor mounts OK? Since the engine/trans is held in alignment by the tranny mount and the motor mounts; a problem with any of the above could result in misalignment. Also make sure the trans cross member is centered.
Even if you tightened the panhard bar in the air, the suspension will settle after a few miles...

 

Actually I did not touch the panhard bar, I'm wondering if as I just installed a set of new shocks with vst (valve that opens for presure) maybe the valve is stuck on em, causing it not to go down.

 

you could disconnect the shocks with the car sitting on level ground and see if the high corner comes down. If it doesnt, then its not the shocks.

 

Thanks merf, I got till wait till Friday when I'm off to head out to where the Formula is I'm gonna check the shocks out.
