aluminum drums

I found a rear in the junk yard that has them on it. I think the car is about 84-ish. will they work on my car and will it be worth getting them? Is the weight factor the only advantage?

I've heard that's a 3.73/open axle! You might want to get the whole thing and dump it under your Z! I passed one up in the junkyards-- wish I didn't. Can anyone confirm what aluminum drums meant??

They are about 5lbs lighter than cast iron drums and are interchangeable at least with my '84. I know that much.

My fiance and I stripped a 81 Malibu 2door down for a race car quite a few years ago. It had the aluminum drums, but I don't know if they would fit our cars.
