power steering pressure switch
Does anybody know where I can get a new pressure switch for my power steerring pressure line. Mine sprung a leak and I am going through a bottle of fluid every week and a half. What exactly does this thing do anyway. If it isn't required I'll just take it out and install a plug. Thanks!

The power steering pressure switch measure power steering pressure (duh). When the pressure reaches a certain point, the switch signals the computer to raise the idle a little because the added load of the power steering pump could stall the engine at low speeds, like when parking. The switch is there for a reason, so don't just take it out! My guess is you'll have to go to the dealership for this one.

Thanks for the input viciousZ. I knew that it is for pressure sensing but I didn't think about the input to the computer for engine speed due to older vehicles not requiring it. I had seen it at one time on wrenchead.com but I haven't found it since. I hate having to pay the dealer price though.

What kinda pressure??
Does anyone know what sort of pressure (PSI) is required to activate this switch?
I've removed my switch to clean up the wiring since it's now carbed, not injected. The switch may come in handy for something else - especially if I know what pressure it switches at.
