Best first upgrade?
Best first upgrade?
I have a 91 RS. I want to make the handling a little bit better but dont want to spend a ton of money just yet. What will give me the most performance for a cheap price? Should i go with The iroc sway bars and wonder bar? That should only be like 25 bucks from a JY right? How about bushings? How much do those run and how much of a difference will they make? Anything else i can do for cheap? How about cutting the springs?

Hi,
The absolute first thing that you should do
is to get a good pair of sub-frame connectors. This will make your car "whole".
Then think about a strut tower brace...then
lowering springs/shocks..then all the other
crap.

Lots of good brands of SFC's. I built mine, so I don't have an opinion on the brand. Have a shop install them. They need to be welded to work right.
poly bushings
aftermarket sway bars(or big stock bars)
drop springs(reasonable prices for a third-gen
etc...

Hi,
You want to get sub frame connectors, that are weld on....do not get the bolt in type.
My Sub-Frames are from "MAC". They work great and they are cheap...they are about $99. Look in the Super Chevy Magazine and they should have an ad there.
Thanks

Josh, by throwing on polyurethane end-links for my anti-sway bars, the car improved a few notches on the "cool!" scale. I bought the Energy Suspension ones, I think I paid $20/set (two links, for one bar). You need links with a "2 5/8 inch sleeve length". Summit Racing should have 'em. You'd buy one set for the front bar and one for the rear.
Poly anti-sway-bar mounting bushings are supposed to make your stock bar act as if it's one size larger. For those, you have to measure the diameter of your anti-sway bar. Use calipers, or tighten down an open-ended-adjustable wrench on the bar and measure the gap between the jaws. I'm not sure how much those run. Call Summit Racing at 1-800-230-3030 for part info & pricing...
