Spohn torque arm and ground clearance...
I finally got around to dragging the beast out of it's winter cave and putting on my Spohn torque arm. I ordered it with the drive shaft loop because who really wants to do an endo in a car they've put all this work into.
Anyways, I've got two questions. The first is this: Is it normal for the drive shaft loop mounting bar to only be 5-6" off the ground? My car is lowered about 2" so I know that doesn't help, but it looks like they could have made the cross member shorter and left the spacer off the transmission mounting pad and picked up at least 1 1/4" of clearance.
#2: I torqued everything as tight as I could w/o being able to get a torque wrench to it and felt I had it tight enough. After a couple burn outs and hard launches to make sure it actually changed something (and boy did it ever!
) it started clanking when I went from D to R or let off after a take off. Just wondering if this is a common thing or if I need to get under there with some bigger wrenches and lay the smack down on the bolts.
Thanks for the input guys! Oh, and regardless, I love the bar. I can deal with it dragging, I was just wondering if everyone's was as low as mine of if mine maybe was welded on a funny angle.

i think the clanking is the through bolt for the arms where it ataches to the crossmember. Get a new one thats a bit longer and has more shoulder on it and it should stop.
as for ground clearance, it could be better, but its not. 5-6" is really high anyway, you should be fine. I have things lower than that and dont normally hit anything

I'll look into the bolt the next time I'm home. As the the ground clearance, I park the thing in a barn so it was plowing a little rut where I have to back in. I guess it'll just have to do that, I love the way it stabilizes the car. I still need to weld on the control arm drop brackets and make some tubular LCA's for the rear.
