I lowered my '89 GTA with Intrax 2" lowering springs about a month ago. The ride now is really harsh and I am bottoming out on a lot of speed bumps and stuff. The only thing i really like about it is the sleek look.

I bought a pair of front unused eibach 1" front only springs of some guy, and I still have my stock springs at home.

I need to replace my front idler arm and weld up a crack in my front suspension (from me hitting a curb).. so I figured I'd either put in the eibach's with the stock rear springs or go back to stock height. I also just put in some new kyb's all around when I changed the springs.

I figured I'd put the eibach's (pro-kit) in unless they had a harsh ride.. does anyone have these and can they comment on how it rides?

I think the 2" drop reall negatively affected my handling because I stuck with stock alignment specs.. are there any suggested alignment specs with a 1" drop?

Should I just go ahead and replace all the bushings while I'm at it? How do you guys have your control arm bushings pressed out.. at just any shop? Anything else I should do? I ordered a Edelbrock STB too.. I am trying to make my car into a real handler..

You have a bit of a conflict. You want it to handle really good and you want it to ride nice. It's a trade off. With drop springs,
-.5 camber left and right
+4.5 caster on left
+5 caster on the right
toe -1/16
Subframe connecters are needed for sure(welded). It's all about the combination of parts to make a car handle good. The whole suspension needs to work together(subframe connecters, springs, shocks, alignment, bushings, etc...

You should also throw those KYB's in the trash,I put them on the rear of my car 2 months ago and they bottom out all the time,I have since been told they are way to soft for my car(WS6)by many people,and with your lowered and stiffer springs they're even a worse match.I just purchased Koni reds for the rear of my car and will install this weekend,if I really like them I plan to get them for the front to replace Formula GP's(I like the GP's but I plan to lower the car and want adjustables,to go with Eilbach Prolines)Everyone I have talked to loves the Koni's

Do the eibach's ride ok? I want a better ride, not a perfect one. Before I changed the springs and shocks (my old shocks/struts had 90,000+ miles on them) rode pretty well, but would sway up and down after hitting a bump cause the shocks were so bad. I was thinking about something better than the KYB's.. maybe the koni reds.. but 400+ dollars is a lot.. the KYB's cost me about 70 bucks for all four. Although when I put them on I noticed that the stock rear shocks were about twice as beefy as the KYB's.

Does anybody know which weld in sfc's work with dual cat cars? Which ones are the cheapest that work with this exhaust? I am thinking about buying some kind of welder because I need to fix my car, weld in some sfc's in an '84 mustang, and want sfc's in my car.. so It would be cheaper for me to just buy some kind of welder.

Thanks for the specs on the alignment.. I'll get those specs done after I fix the springs and idler arm.

So the eibach's are good springs? Better handling/ride than my stock (90,000miles) springs?
