ASAP- Brake Vaccum Check Valve ??

I broke the plastic nipple on the black thing that hooks from the brake booster and vaccuum line on the TB. Can I just hook the hoses up without the plastic black thing?

HELP!! I have 15 min.

Justin

I imagine you'd find that pedal effort and travel would increase as you came to a stop and vacuum dropped, on an engine with strong idle vacuum this might not be a problem. In a situation where the engine stalled though, you'd lose braking assist right away instead of having that one or two extra pumps.

Just go to Auto Zone and get a new one, it's in their Help section for like $5.

It's not "necessary" in the sense that something won't work if it's not there; but what it does, is hold your power brakes up for one or 2 applications after the motor stops running, which could come in real handy some day when you need to pull off to the side of the road without running over anything.

I broke the plastic nipple on mine, and removed it.. Ive been driving without it for awhile now, but towards lower speeds, when you lose vaccum, it isnt good, so when Im in town, I manually shift down to prevent that from happening, but, I am actually planning on replacing that this weekend... You can drive without it, just be careful!
