Shaking at 85mph?
I have a 1988 GTA with 30,000 miles on it, along with the original tires. Whenver I go 85mph or higher the car shakes. The whole dash shakes and the sunvisor falls down also. The tires are about shot and I'm getting some new Goodyear Eagle HP 245/50/16 with a four wheel alignment and the tires balanced, will that take that shake away? Thanks to all who reply.

New tires should fix your problem. It sounds like you have poorly balanced tires. Even if they are perfectly balanced when new, over time it will change, so you need to get them rebalanced. When you get them balanced, you might want to make sure they give you a dynamic balance, with weights on both the inner and outer lip of the wheel. I had a problem with a static balance (weight on inner lip only) that wouldn't go away no matter how often it was balanced. Got it done with a dynamic balance and the shaking was gone.

if you have the original wheels on the car you shouldn't have any problems with a static balance tire

Balance has as much to do with the tire as it does the wheel. The wheels I had problems with before were aftermarket, but right now I have stock IROC wheels on it that are static balanced that also are unbalanced at higher speeds.
