Does anyone know who sells one for a carbed car with no hood clearance between the air filter? How much?

JDMZ28,
Edelbrock makes one that goes in front of the air filter and triangulates to the rear header panel(near the distributor). I've heard from some that it is difficult to install if you have AC on your car and a dual snorkel setup.

I have a dual snorkel air cleaner set up on my car. I have a homemade, two point STB and it fits with no problem. I have a V belt car.

The problems with the Edelbrock STB comes from the air conditioning bracket. Early 3rd Gens had V belts with the air conditioning compressors on the drivers side. Later cars, with serpentine belts, mounted the compressor on the passenger side. The Edelbrock unit fits the later.

In the archives, there are accounts of people using the Edelbrock STB with V belt cars by making modifications to the AC compressor bracket.

5 Spd, 3:73 Posi, 1 5/8" SLP headers, 3"cat connected to
stock L69 exhaust, KYB's, homemade SFC's,STB and wonderbar
Some are faster but mine's fast enough.

I took my a/c off. The only concern of mine is the STB interfering with the air cleaner. I repeat, there is NO hood clearance between the air cleaner and the hood.

Which air cleaner do you have? It should fit the single snorkel type.

Like mentioned before, if you do not have air or dual snorkel air cleaner the Edelbrock STB will work fine.

That was what I needed, thanks Chuck. I have a 14" open element. I was planning on fabricating a dual snorkel ram air later on, I hope there will be no interference. Are there any companies' that will not fit on a car like mine or chuck's? Thanks a ton.
