Idler arm and Relay rod Replacement?

Hi,

just wanting to know how easy it is to change an Idler arm and a Relay rod on an 86 Iroc and if anyone has some good tips for this job?

fairly easy to do. all you need is a few sockets, or wrenchs for the nuts and a pickle fork. don't try it with out a pickle fork.

Since you're replacing the idler arm also, I highly suggest you get a shop manual. The Chilton's doesn't really tell you all you need to set up it's height. I've got the Shop manual for an 84 so if you need some info, just email me at Wolfcoast@earthlink.net.
They are both pretty easy to replace. I just replaced the relay rod on my 84 Z28 and it only took about an hour total. The only reason it took that long is getting the relay rod off of the idler arm was a B*&*&. Definitely use a pickle fork. Makes it soooo easy.
