IROC Steering Question

I bought an 86 IROC yesterday CHEAP for parts. I want to upgrade the handling on my 89 RS,I already have some 82 Z28 stuff on there ,but I plan to put all of the IROC stuff on my car. I recently put KYB struts and shocks on the car, so I won't be changing those, but I plan changing springs, sway bars,w/all polyuretrane bushings, and installing the wonderbar. When I change front springs, I'm going to replace the ball joints, tie-rod ends and the idler arm. My question is about the steering box, is it different than the 89 RS one?? If it is I want to cahnge it too, but I don't want cahnge if they're the same. Thanx

The "quick" ratio steering box will have a number on the top that ends with '525 and a large "Z" embossed directly below this number.

Light weight 34.5mm stabilizer bar in front ($10 from wrecking yard)/
"wonder Bar" ($5 from wrecking yard)
23mm sta. bar in rear
Rear RS Springs (slightly softer than my Z28)
comp cam, flowmaster
TB coolantbypass/shutoff valve to heater core
powersteering cooler lines (liberated from another wrecked car of course)

does you car with the 160 thermostat get over 150 degrees?
If it doesn't you may be losing power and fuel milage. I put a 160 in my 85 ta and it still overheated. The i put on a new airdamn under the radiater and it won't get above 150. I lost a lot of power and about 7 mpg in fuel.

I recently discovered the Iroc has a 7-ply rag joint in the steering joint. The RS has a 4-ply one.
