I'm new to the F-body cars, I have a 91 Formula 350 and have noticed a hollow clicking or clunking sound from the drivers side. When I push down on the body on the left side I hear the clicking noise and it sounds like its up by the strut mount. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and whether you think it is the bearing in the mount gone bad or if when the strut goes bad it makes that noise. When I push down on the car it doesn't bounce like when a shock is bad. Any help would be greatly appreiciated. Thanks.

 

Just a wild guess, but since the strut has very few moving parts I'd check the strut mount.

 

Good time to replace the struts, too, after 10 years...

Change the struts and the upper strut mounts. There's a bearing in there that's probably gone which is making your noise.
