knocking sound

i cant find this this for the life of me. there is a pretty loud knocking sound when im driving. i know that it is coming from my driver side rear wheel. i think that its knocking at a certain point because it seems to be a knock for each rotation of the wheel. the knocking goes away when i apply the brakes. i have a stock GTA set up with C5 Z06 rims with 275s out back so i dont think its rubbing.
thanks

Re: knocking sound

If your sound goes away with braking id start by inspecting the brakes.

Yeah, more info is needed. If you have discs and it occurred with every turn it could be a warped rotor or the clips are not on the brake pads. start by jacking up the car and making sure all bolts are torqued correct and the sway bar end link is not rusted or cut apart. Could also be a broken belt in the tire?
