Replacement rear coil spring seats 89 formula
Replacement rear coil spring seats 89 formula
Can anyone help me find replacement coil spring seats for the rear lower spring. There seems to be a gap in aftermarket seats for 82-91. I found ones for 89 grand am, grand prixs and bonnevilles but not for the Camaro, Firbirds or GTA's. Anyone have an Idea, experience or solution for replacing these. My 89 Formula has a rotted one on the lower right side rear.

either cut on off another axle from the junkyard, or fab something, your not going to find a direct replacement spring perch. You can get universal ones from various manufactures, coleman, southwest speed, afco ect ect. but its pretty straight forward to just make one.

Go to a junk yard and have the cut off a pair on an axle and the weld it back on yours.

Thanks that's what I suspected. Now how about the round piece that the bottom of the spring fits into. I ones for 89 bonnevilles, grand prix's and grand ams, none for the 82-91 f body's. I'd like to use something new as a replacement before I go the junk yard route.

your not going to find replacement ones at any parts store for this application, its not a servicable part. or even a part# from GM, its part of the axle made by whoever designed and built the rear.
your options are
junkyard
fabricate
universal-ish ones from coleman, afco ect, if they have one similar, doubt it.
seriously, a big washer, a short piece of tubing, some flat bar for reinforcement on the underside, weld it up, done
