Wheel BS and rearend length

I'm getting ready to convert my IROC conv to a ladder bar/9" rearend with coil overs and a sway bar. I'm not sure if I'm going to go with a full backhalf or just a mini tub. I plan to run a 10.5W tire I definetly want to keep the top assembly still operable which may necessitate keeping the floor pan and factory frame rails. Has anyone done this and kept the factory frame rails? Care to share details like what Wheel BS and rearend length you used. This is going to be a mid to low 8 sec car.
Thanks,
Chris Lyons
