Shoulda hit the cat...Part II(Results of inspection)

For those of you who didn't read part one--I hit a curb to save a cat(or racoon, possum, whatever it was).I know, stupid.Bit I didn't want to ruin the new front valence I just put on.Anyway.I had my new rim and two new front tires put on today.I had Firestone inspect it while they did the alignment, and here's what they came up with-- 1) bent crossmember 2)bent lca(rt side). Here's my question(s). Should I just get a replacement for this one side? Or should I just go ahead and replace both while I'm at it? Do any of you have suggestions on good aftermarket lca's which don't cost too much, compared to other lca's? I want the best for the dollar deal--I just spent money to replace the rim I bent(17") and two new tires, mounting, balance, and a $60 alignment. So I can't dish out too much more right now,but I need to get this done ASAP.So that's what I mean by best-for-the dollar. Also, the crossmember isn't bent too bad. What happens if i just leave it?Or should I get a new one? What should I expect to pay for one at the scrap yard? Thanks guys for any comments, suggestions, etc.

I did the same thing to my car. I hit a curb at about 30 in the rain. I replaced my Front LCA with one from the junkyard ($45 pulled). I can't tell the difference in handling though. The cost of the crossmember is minimal.. you can get a shell from an f-body for free.. but installation would be the expensive part, I am guessing you have to remove the engine/tranny + unbolt the crossmember.. i would guess maybe $300 for a shop to do it with the engine and tranny already out. I was planning on getting a new crossmember when I replaced my engine. I might just see how much it costs to get it repaired (if it's possible) cause its probably a LOT cheaper.

Anybody know any actual costs.. i would be interested too.

i have no idea if these work or not but I havent hit an animal in months since putting this on.

i got it from J C whitney...
its supposed to emit a high frequency noise and scare animals away from wind going into it

its like 3 bux..what the hell....
I was hitting an animal every other month

been about 4 since putting on device...
maybe my streaks gonna end

every animal I have seen has been running so maybe it works....before they would just stroll around the car....maybe its all in my head, but i know I havent hit an animal in a couple of months

I put two of those whistles on my car after barely pulling out of the way of a deer. Ended up on someone's lawn but thankfully no damage to the bird. These deer whistles work great!

Tall boy, I had those deer whistles on my car once. The problem was, I put them on backwards. I had herds of deer chasing me for miles!

RSpeed: Still have the 17x8s up front? You should have replaced both with 17x9s. You told me in email they might fit but you weren't sure. Well they fit beautifully, and only a tiny metal tab needed to be bent out of the way on the driver's side.
