Hotchkis vs. Eibach springs
Hotchkis vs. Eibach springs
Are they basically the same? They both claim to lower the car 1". I imagine they would be quite similar. The are relatively the same price w/ the Eibachs being a little more expensive.
Anybody have experience w/ both?
By the way I contacted Eibach before about some Qs I had.
Here is what I asked:
"PN 3801.140
I have a 1985 Camaro Z-28. Will these high performance lowering springs require any further change to the suspension geometry such as rear control arm relocation brackets to correct for the control arm angle from the lowering of the vehicle? I have seen these products offered and am curious if they are needed for this installation.
"
Here is their response:

Hello James,
Thank you for your interest in Eibach Springs. Your year vehicle has a live axle in the rear so it does not have rear control arms. The springs sit on top of the axle and the chassis sits on the springs so there is no change to the rear besides ride height. The front will get some negative camber after installing the springs and there should be enough adjustment with the factory equipment.
Thank you,
Team Eibach
"
Of coarse I will get the LCA relocation brackets, I just wanted to know what they say on the matter. I guess their tech overlooked our LCAs in the rear.

I've used eibach's in the past and I loved them. I had no problems with installation and their technical knowledge was excellent. The difference was most likely that I call. I want to talk to a tech rep. I don't want whoever has the time to answer email. As for the products, I was happy with the quality and they were exactly what eibach advertised
The Eibachs are great. Definitely an improvement over the 18 year old stock springs.
