A-arm bushings

I'm rebuilding my front suspension this weekend using a polygraphite kit from PST. My question is how hard would it be to remove and replace the A-arm bushinigs without a press. I'm confident in myself, and I'll be doing it myself either way, but I was just looking for some info. and tips. Anybody using this kit? Like it?

They're one of the biggest PITA things I know of to replace. I pay someone else to do them (one of the 3 or 4 things on the enitire car I don't do myself), and people usually use an air chisel not a press. You could use a press to put in new ones, it's geting the old ones out without wasting the control arm that's such a pill.

PST supplies maintenance instructions, follow them.

Save yourself the aggravation and take them to a machine shop. It only cost me $36 to have the bushings and balljoints pressed out and the new parts pressed in for both A-arms. Well worth it!

Plus, it only took the shop an hour to do it.

I have it. On my Trans Am (no longer have). I press the bushings out at a friends shop. Took me two hours to do with the equipment they had. On my firebird I took them in to get them done. Don't wast your the time on them. If you don't have a press.

I have this kit on my car right now I like it alot. Remmeber to gresses the bushing before you install them or elce they will squeek. Polygraphie all round. While your under there might as well change the struts, inner and outer tie rods, pitman gear, and do your brakes at the same time. That what I did.

damn i do this all the time and it isn't any big deal to me. air chisle to remove them and a press to get them back in. i'd rather do bushings than change oil and filter in the trans.
