I have a 1990 3.1L camaro. I went to race my friend in about a quarter mile. when it came time for me to stop I could not stop fast enough, my front brakes also shatterd. how can I stop this from happening.if this happened on a 3.1, most likely it could have been worse on a V8 . what can I do to stop this from happening again.

It sounds like the pads were defective. I have a 3.1 and i have had to stop fast from 100 MPH . The brake pads arent stock, they are upgraded, but even with stock it shouldnt do that. Are the rotors warped? do they have grooves in them? (before the pads scattered)
