Questions about LCA

The previous owner of my car relocated the lower control arms. He had the car sitting about 1" inches lower then how I currently have it sitting. 2 questions.

How do you know where to relocate the arms to?
And what is the benifits of adjustable ones?

you measure the pinion angle and set the LCAs to get the angle you want. the pinion angle is related to how hard the rear end presses the tires down ward when you launch

Ok, so how do you find the pinion angle? From the relation to the pinion yolk to true level? Also what about adjustable ones, what are the benifits of those.
