Power steering pulley removal.
How is the power steering pulley attached onto the shaft? This is on a 1986 Camaro. I even have the official manual for this car and it still doesn't make sense!! My pump has an allen key hole in the centre of the shaft and that's all I can see. I know you can buy pullers for these, but I don't know how they work and where they can be bought. Can anybody give me a really descriptive explanation?!!
Sure, I can give you a decisive answer. A clear one is another thing altogether though....anyways, you will need to go buy a puller to do this. They sell them at most auto parts stores (I think I got mine at advance or someplace). It is a crazy little tool with lots of parts. It has two thick "U" shaped pieces that clamp over the hub of the pulley, a ring that fits around them, and an assortment of bolts and a big nut or two. With this puller, getting the pulley off is not really a big deal. The hole that looks like it is for an allen wrench is actually threaded. One of the bolts in the puller kit will fit on it. Well, this will all make more sense once you get the puller. And it explains some more in the instructions. Good luck

Edit:
Whoa, didn't realize you were not in the U.S! I don't know what kind of parts stores they've got over there, but the puller is a universal fit. It is supposed to fit all cars (metric and standard bolts in it), so it should work just fine.
