Annoying creaking and groaning
Annoying creaking and groaning
For about a year now, my front end has been creaking really bad at random times and I think I have a good idea where it is. About a year and a half ago I had the front end rebuilt but after awhile it started groaning really bad. I've had three shops tell me that there's nothing dangerous or wrong with it it's just annoying. The bolts on the inside of engine compartment that hold the strut in have these little rubber donuts (I guess you would call them that) when you pull the black cones off the top to access the nut and those rubber donuts have cracked and supposedly this is where the groaning is coming from, I just occasionally spray white lithium grease in there and the groaning stops for about a week or so. But my question is, where can I find replacements for these?? I would really like to replace these.

Re: Annoying creaking and groaning
Welcome to TGO. Listing your year, make and model is always helpful. For example, if you own a 82-86 car, the bearing plates will require a retainer from a 87-92. If you have the latter, you're good to go.
