Just Thinking
When i had my front end down to put in my springs, i didn't think it "fit" the rest of the car. Everything up front except for the springs and pads is 100% 70K mile stock.
I was thinking about getting all new steering arms etc, new a-arms and possibly a tubular kmember. I'd also upgrade the brakes to c5 or bigger.
On to some questions:
For the steering linkages, i think rock auto has the best prices. Why would i need to pay alot more for what spohn sells? Any other places? Any upgrades over stock other than the tierod sleeves?
A-arms i was thinking about taking the stock k and getting it powdercoated since the tubeular would be around 600+$$. If it costs 200+ to get the stock one coated, I'll spend the money and get a tubular. Which ones are you guys prefering? i know UMI won't come out with one, and i know that spohns main hoop is notched. I was looking into bmr's and racecraft. how about PA racing?
If i don't get a tubular K, what a arms fit the stock k? Not going coil over btw.
Brakes. Won't try and go any smaller than 12", 13" would be ideal. What are you guys liking? I got wilwoods on my sled and they're awesome, but for my car i think it'll cost a little much. So i'm thinking c5 upgrade? They just have to clear my 17" rim.
Like i said just thinking out loud here. Shoot any thoughts you guys have my way! Thanks

Re: Just Thinking
c5 brakes should fit most 17" wheels no problem.
if you are paying anywhere near 200 bux for powdercoating of the k-member, you are getting ripped off big time.
If the car sees more street use than drag use, i would just keep the stock k-member anyway.
steering parts, just make sure they are Moog parts, i pieced everything together off ebay and saved a few bux over what i could find elsewhere.

Unless your car will see tons of salt and snow I'd get the Wilwoods. Ed has a wilwood kit for $1000. The C5 can't be much cheaper than that.

Re: Just Thinking
Yep i found some guys running c5s on their 17s now. The reason i said 200 for coating is because 4 little sled a-arms cost me $105 lol. He did have to use stripper to get the old powder off. It's mostly street, although i do get on it once in a while on the backroads. I'll be searching ebay for moog.
I'm going to try and call ed tomorrow. Lots of options i want to ask about, especially the 13.4" C6 set up.

Re: Just Thinking
damn i think way too much lol. between pa racing, aje, spohn, bmr, and racecraft; i think i'd go with the pa or aje k. In reality i'm prolly going to coat the k and get UMI arms lol. Steering **** will be all moog from flebay or napa, and i didn't get time to call ed today.
It just never ends! After work instead of looking for suspension stuff i got my 317 heads tore down to be milled and get new prc springs and valves. i need a third job haha
