New Delco P/S pump leaks like a siv

So I put my new pump on and it leaks like crazy. There is a little red plastic plug on the back of the pump body that seems to be the culprit. I tried to coat it with some hylomar and see if that would stop it, no dice. I am going to take the plug out and see if I can find one that fits more securely. Anyone else run into this? I know these pumps tend to cake up over time, but this one is off the shelf and it's leaving a decent size puddle overnight. I'm running royal purple p/s fluid in it, maybe it's too thin of a fluid? Thanks

Odds are that a bolt is required at that location. There are several mounting holes in the rear of the pump. Depending upon the application they either get a bolt or a double ended stud (hex in the middle). Try a 3/8-16 bolt about an 1 in length, with a flat & split lock.

If you still have the old pump, can get the bolt from it.

Makes perfect sense, fluid seeping past the threads. I'll get a bolt in there asap. Thanks!
