Front end rebuild advice
Hello all. I am an old skool car guy, but new to 3rd gens. My son and I have an 88 base V6 that is his first car. It's in pretty nice shape, just needs a bunch of TLC. I want to rebuild the suspension, nothing fancy, just safe and reliable. I saw the 1A Auto has a front end rebuild kit. Anyone use one? We are just going to go with stock/OEM replacement parts, with the exception of some poly bushings in a few spots. I will appreciate any and all recommendations. We are trying to do this on a budget, and to teach the boy some skills.
I have seen the sticky here for the punch list, but I just want to be able to get some kits, for ease of ordering.

I just used Polyurethane A-arm bushings and TRW Ball joints. The Moog stuff was extremely pricy... the TRW stuff had a lifetime warranty so I figured it couldn't be that bad. I wouldn't go any cheaper than TRW on the ball joints, though. The TRW's have grease fittings too, a lot of the cheaper ones dont. Something to think about...
I left the sway bar bushings and steering parts alone for now, though. I didn't think they were a big deal anyway.
Other than that.. there's not many other bushings in the front suspension I dont think... I already have poly sway bar bushings.

PST has "Polygraphite" bushings in a complete kit with ball joints and tie rod ends. The graphite in the bushings keeps them quiet and smooth. Idler arm and centerlink are additional but their prices are pretty reasonable. I did my 87 11 years ago and its tight with no squeaks. Polyurethane bushings are famous for squeaking.

Thanks for the response guys. The PST kit looks pretty nice and the price doesn't look to bad either. I just want it to be safe and dependable. My son is 14 and just getting his license. Gotta love North Dakota, you can get a license at 14!

Did you received the PST kit yet? If so have you installed it and how did it go.
