SHOCKS??????
SHOCKS??????
I was wondering if the kyb gas a matic shocks were any good. If not does any body know any good shocks under $40. My shocks have 108,000 miles on them so I think they are causeing my wheel hop. Will bad shocks cause wheel hop? my tires bounce bad when i try and nail it in first gear. I would appreciate all the help i can get on this one. thanks

The shocks are gas-a-just. They kick *** , they will stiffen the ride and slightly raise the rear a little when new, then settle down. With that many miles you are a prime candidate for new shocks.
Your wheel hop is not from the shocks, but from the weak stock rubber lower control arm bushings. On your car, if they have never been replaced, they are more than likely like putty.
You can buy replacement poly urethane/graphite bushings and put them in the stock lower control arms, or just get new LCA's that are much stronger and come with performance bushings.
I got Lakewood LCAs for my car.
Before it had tons of wheel hop in first when accelerating and some in 2cd.
This will totally eliminate your wheel hop most likely, it did for me.
Check the bushings on the panhard rod too!
Hope this helps out.

KYB's are great!
I have the Gas-a-just for the back, and GR-2 struts for the front..
I replaced my 115,000mi stock stuff and it made a world of difference.. no more bottoming out, nice firm yet smooth ride.
I have nothing but good things to say about them
