Guys, I need some help. I've swapped an 87 350 TPI/700R4 combo into a 1982 Trans Am. However, the crossmember from either year will NOT line up with the tranny mount and the holes in the frame. I've been looking everywhere to find someone who offers this crossmember, but to no avail. Has anyone else out there done this swap and had a crossmember made? If so, could you please give me dimensions or pictures? I've even tried making my own but when I go to line it up on the car, it still doesn't work. I suppose this is the one thing that would have to hinder me since it's the only year with only the TH200 available. Any help from you guys is very appreciated. Thanks.

I did this swap. I sliced the original crossmember it two places with a band saw, moved the center(cut) part of the crossmember back a couple of inches, welded it, reinforced it, and reinstalled it.
