HELP! i need some info on pulling the k member!
Alright guys. so im pulling the k member! yay me... lol so i have an 87 Iroc-z 5.7 TPI. I just rebuilt the motor not even 1000 miles ago, and the oil pan gasket is leaking. which goes to show that using the 4 piece oil pan gasket is bullshit. at least in my opinion. so there are 2 ways to pull the pan. 1 pull the motor. or 2 pull the k member. well i know pulling the motor might be easyier on a stock car well my exhast flanges are welded. so cant remove the headers with out cutting. (previos owners bright idea) bolts are a bitch to get off. have to remove the oil pan dipstick holder... spark plugs, wiring harness. ect.. so im going to pull the k member. so can someone help me out here im new to suspension. just a walk threw or something. i dont even know where to start.?

Disconnect the motor mounts and lift and support the engine from the top. Disconnect the steering linkage and brake lines. Disconnect the ball joints and remove the springs (you'll need a spring compressor to get them back in). Disconnect the sway bar if equipped. Remove the 6 mounting bolts and the k-member is out.
Probably easier to just pull the engine and reinstall it properly.
