Anyone Thats Changed Your Suspension, Please Help.

Ok, i was ok with the stiff ride of my 91 305 bird tbi, but i dont want it to get hurt cause i know theyre old, and passengers are complaining, it doesnt bounce when you push down. but is real stiff.
Question:

i am fortunate for my parents to be actually paying for the suspension, but i want to get best price.

I would like min of 1 inch drop no more than 1 1/2
would that be ok with eventual 17x7-8 wheels?
ive seen the hotchkis for 254.95 for front/rear.
eibach i believe 239.95

New shocks, so far ive heard/seen KYBs (which?) konis tooo much.

I think i wanna get a strut tower brace at the same time, its for a tbi.

AnY info you guys give is MUCH appreciated!

Thnx

I just put the hotchkis springs and kyb shocks and struts on mine.It handles much better now,and it's not to stiff. Also the hotchkis springs are only $211 now.I bought mine from performance suspension along with a front end rebuild kit,but the new jegs catalog also lists them for $211.(or $209)

I just did my whole susp. and I used the Intraxs springs.. for the price I am satisfied and I used the Kyb shocks and struts and a Hotchkis strut tower brace

all & all It was a Major improvement but If I had the money I would have gone with the ebachi springs

also I would think about some new poly. bushings and some new Ball joints (depending on how many miles you have)
hope that will help some

oh ya... here is a pic of my stance after 2" lowering with the springs

I put the Eibachs on my ride and it dropped it about 1.5 inches. I was a great improvement in handeling and braking. The were a little bit stiffer but it was a welcome change from the sloppy stock springs. They highway ride is virtually stock but when you rip a corner, you really notice a difference. That's why they make progressive rate springs.

FYI I just bought the KYB non-adjustables from Summit Racing. Front: KYB GR-2 gas struts #236001 Rear: KYB Gas-a-Just shocks #KG5562 Shipping is FREE from Summit but handling was $6.95. Grand total: $162.75
I know this doesn't include springs but its a good price and you can get springs from Summit. Anyway ... I thought this info might be helpful.
