Big is not always better. Why do you have KYB.s when you think the Monroe's look better???

i changed to KYB because i found the monroes too bouncy ...and heard great things about kyb ...i just was disapointed with the rear kyb's....they look much slimmer than the monroes....does anyone here have the kyb?...how do they handle?....thankyou.

Shock/strut behavior is all about the internal valving.

An external appearance of "strength" does not in itself mean much - you aren't going to break one in anything resembling normal use unless it's defective as it sits in the box or you manage to damage it yourself.

Body diameter usually does suggest something about the diameter of the piston that's inside and maybe something about heat dissipation. But a bigger diameter shock can still be valved "softer" than a smaller diameter one.

I am running the GR-2's front and rear, they handle great. even on rough surfaces the rear stays planted under heavy accel., and no wheel hop.

No complaints here on the GR2's. Fairly stiff ride.
