What is it thats leaking?

My power steering is leaking where a black hose connects to the metal junction with the sensor on it. What is the sensor, what is the name of the metal pipe. Do I have to replace the whole thing? It looks like the metal pipe may come apart by the sensor. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks

I have no idea what the sensor is for but if the hose is leaking from where the rubber line joins the hard line, you will need to replace the hose. On my 87 Firebird, you can diconnect it from the back of the power steering pump and from the 'T' fitting the sensor is in. As for what the hose is called..... I just call it The hose that goes between the power steering pump and the sensor fitting

Hope that helps
