Brakes for my IROC?
Brakes for my IROC?
Need some advise on good brakes. I don't need top of the line but something good that is going to make stopping my 400+ hp ZZ4 IROC a little bit easier
Any recommendations and approx prices?

Try some 1LE fronts and disc rear. Drums suck. Period. Never could get to liking them on a performance car. You can get all the front 1LE parts by looking around for about $600. That's cheap compared to Baer, although they're probably a little better. The 1LE's are 12" dual piston Corvette brakes. Rear J-65 rear discs ('89+, earlier rear discs have big problems) would be a cheap alternative to drums. Look at the tech articles on this site...they have links to brakes swaps like these.

While I've heard many times that J65s have problems, I've never experienced any in my 85. In my opinion, if you apply the e-brake regularly, you'll have no problems.
