How much $$$$ to convert to rear disks?

I was looking all over to estimate the cost to change my rear brakes to disks. I have seen all kinds of conversion kits. So which ones are good what are not. Who much have you guys spent on the conversion and is it even worth the trouble and money.

Swapping the entire rear end for a posi/disc rear end is the easiest and cheapest way. Just remember to swap the emergency brake cables as well. Also you may need to replace the proportioning valve if your car is 88 or older. The rear end ran me $300. 89 and newer have larger diameter discs. Good luck, Lon.

I really have not check out anything on the axle. I could look it up but o'well I will ask some one who has done it. To do this do you have to change your axil shafts and do you have to have posi with it.

I would not think it would matter if it was posi or not, but are the axle shafts different.

you have to change proportioning valves on the 89-92 too....I think your thinking of the master cylinder,88 and older you have to change both master cylinder and proportioning valve but the newer cars use the same master........
