Wheel studs and spacers
I don't know if this is the right area to post this, but here goes.
When I replaced my 26 spline axles with 28 spline ones, I found that the wheel studs were almost 1/8" shorter. How many diffrent wheel stud lengths were used on the 3rd gens?
Also, this car had .150" spacers between the rear rotors and wheels. I found that by leaving the spacers out, the lug nuts would go on far enough to use all the threads. (I notice that on the front wheels the studs actually come out a bit past the threads in the lug nuts.) Nothing touches with the spacers out, so I'm going to leave it that way. I've heard that the spacers were used with drum brakes (aluminum?). Anybody have anymore info on them?
TIA
