Front Suspension Terminology
I am new to the suspension thing and I am getting confused about some things. Are there are lower control arms on the front and the rear? What is the triangle shaped piece on the front suspension that has what I think is a ball joint and two bushings that mount it to the car. Are there any pictures posted anywhere that I could use for reference? THANKS !!

Heheheh, technically, the rear pieces are lower trailing arms, but nearly everyone calls them lower control arms. Trailing (and leading for Jeep owners) arms run front to back, while control arms are side to middle (ie: perpindicular to trailing arms).
Thunderstick is right that what you saw up front is the lower control arm.
