auburn mini spool?
I have a 1990 camaro 3.1. I saw this item in the jegs catalog for about a 100 dollars, I live in one of the biggest cities in the world(NY), should I buy this item to increase traction(imitate posi)? any opinions and comments are welcomed

No. mini-spools are not that strong and are designed for dirt track racing. When you go around corners with locked axles the outside tire will try to turn the same speed as the inside tire. Since it has a greater distance to travel it will skid across the pavement causing a lack of traction and increased tire wear.
On a dirt track that skidding isn't a factor.
The best thing for street use is some sort of locker diff. Things like a Detroit Locker will lock the axles together like a spool or mini spool but will unlock them when turning corners.
