I just recently purchased a Hurst line lock and their install kit. I have found out the install kit has like none of the needed fittings since they're all metric on the car. Does anyone have pictures or even part numbers of the thread sizes needed and how many for the install. Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA

I just installed my Hurst last weekend with the install kit with no problems on my '88 TA. The factory lines fit directly into the line lock and I used the short line from the install kit to plumb it to the prop valve using one of the adapters in the install kit. Are you sure yours won't fit?

Here's some pix of my install...






The rear brake lines aren't hooked up yet because I'm trying to find adapters for my Wilwood adjustable prop valve - anyone know where to find these? I've been all over the damn place...

Scauffiel: Thanks for posting these pics, etc. of the Hurst. I mistakenly got a TCI line lock over the weekend at my local speed shop and was scratching my nuts wondering how the heck I was gonna hook it up... I saw this post and took it back and had him order me a Hurst.

I just finished my wilwood install.

After contacting several different companies who make fittings and wilwood and a company that wilwood suggested I contact, I've arrived at the conclusion that no one makes such a fitting... Male 1/8npt to Female 10mm something. I did contact wilwoods marketing department and suggested they have these fittings made and have them available as an install kit for the customers with metric brake lines.

The only option left is to start hacking.
For my install, I went to the parts store and picked up a couple of 3/16s brake lines and removed the flare fittings from them. The stock brake line is larger than these 3/16s nuts but the 3/16s flare fitting is needed for the wilwood adapters (again male 1/8 npt by 3/16 female flare). I mounted these flare fittings from the 3/16s brake lines in my bench vice and drilled them out to the correct size to fit over my stock brake lines... starting at the threaded side to insure a centered hold for a good seal.

My double flare kit does not have the needed parts to do a double flare on metric tubing so I did single flares. After in car testing, I have no leaks and the install is as clean as can be.

DanW, I did the same thing. Nobody around had an ISO flare tool for metric lines, so I did a single flare when I made a brake line. The thing has been leak free! http://www.eastwoodco.com sells the ISO flare tool, but it's $50... not too good for a "one-time-use".
