"set up" Suspension
"set up" Suspension
I just got my 91 Z28 with G92 package. I dont have a whole lot of money to try every type of suspension combo they have so i was wondering what you have that works pretty good. I am not looking for a racing set up just a great cornering street car. Tell me what sway bar, shock, spring, and tire. Also if you did anyother modification that helped alot that i didnt mention! Thanks a bunch and this will help me out alot.
LCA's, panhard bar, torque arm, and poly bushings. those are your things you didnt mention. oh yeah relocation brackets for the LCA's because your are gonna lower it right. they make the pivot angle of the Lower Control Arms correct, and stop wheel hop.
any well named company, ex Jamex, Eibach, Hotchkis, will lower your car..

I have everything possible on my car. Aftermarket torque arm, panhard bar, lower control arms. Home made LCA relocation brackets and I run air bags in the springs. There's isn't anything else I can do to the rear suspension except go to ladder bars or a 4-link.
The car hooks up very hard but I wouldn't want it as a daily driver.
Stock suspension is just that, Stock. Don't expect it to be a performance suspension. It's designed to handle and give comfort for street use. Even a factory "performance handling package" isn't a big improvement over a typical stock setup. Torque arm, LCA, panhard bar and all the geometry are all the same.
Invest in some Steve Spohn products and you'll be off to a good start improving the handling.
