Not sure about the quality or ease but I stumbled across this somewhere in the depths of the internet. Its a ten point for third gens and you can choose chromoly, dom, or ews for materials. I have been entertaining the same idea for my third gen.

so ya don't have to look like a hack job.
don't like there swing out set up for the door bars. I had to do some looking to get the style I wanted.was about $70 a side to get the bar latch I wanted.
and then the Quick pin I wanted was another $15 ea. it's all about the little things that make it stand out.

I have had both weld in and bolt in bars. I have tested many welds and many bolts in my inspection dept. One thing I know for sure is that the bolts are more consistent. If you dont have an AWS certified welder (with current certs) welding in the cage, then you truly never know what your getting. With a bolt, you know almost exactly what your getting everytime.

Just be sure the cage you choose, and the install will pass Tech for whatever racing you intend to do.

I am looking for advice simular to what's been going on but my thoughts are a little different. I have a 91 that I am building to get back into autocross I think what I'm getting out of all these comments is a weld in is safer and better. I do DD my car(sunny day only) and I am not a fan of the thought of unbolting but i guess what I'm getting at it that I would like to get a roll bar and I plan to change out the seatbelts to a 4 or 5 point harness and I just need to know if ordering one is a better option than having a custom one made

c.e. engineering weld in cage with a set of door bar swingouts
the mild steel kit is cheap but heavy , the chromoly kit is much lighter and about 250$ more, but it needs to be tig welded in to be legal
u can use the door bar swingouts with either kit
i think the swingouts cost about 70$ per side
