Clunk when braking from passenger front side

When I get on the brakes a little harder than usual I get a clunk from the passenger front side that I can feel in the pedal. My buddy in the passenger seat said he could also feel it below him. What could this be? I've never changed ball joints on the car and it has 180,000km on it. Are the ball joints expensive to replace...how long does it take. I replaced the struts this year (kyb) and the strut mounts seamed to be ok.
Can I check for a broken motor mount?
Any help is appreciated!

Yea, it'd be a good idea to change your ball joints... and yes, they're easy to do on the car. You'll need to rent the tool from a parts store or tool rental place. It's like a big c-clamp with a bunch of adapters. Ball joints are cheap, too - about $15 (US) each. They just press out and press in...
