Squealing Brakes

I've had enough already. I replaced my brake pads about two weeks ago. Burnished them a few times and have been driving every day since then. They haven't quit squealing yet. It's the worst at slow speeds, like when I pull up to a light and everyone within five blocks looks to see who the idiot with the high pitched squealing junkpile is. These pads never came with an anti-rattle clip, and that's what I figure the problem is. Where do I go from here? Please help!!!

Did you use any brake-quitet (blus silicone stuff) on the back of the pads?

No, not yet. A friend told me that it doesn't last too long. I'm looking for a permanent fix.

Here is an old time fix:

take your pads out, and get a drill bit the same size as #2 mechanical pencil lead. Drill into the face of the pad, insert of piece of the lead, and snap it off. Reinstall the pads. The tiny bit of graphite from the pencil lead will lubricate the brake pads. It will not affect braking performance.

Thanks for all the advice guys, but I think I've got it. I forced on some anti-rattle clips and then hammered the crap out of the pad backing to get it tight. They don't move at all now, and no squealing-yet. I'm really interested in that graphite fix. I'll remember that for future problems.
