How much weight of crash bars are in the doors.

also how much light are manual roll up windows

If I swapped out to the roll up windows...
how hard would that be?

I weighed mine so I know how much the saving is.

I took off my original doors. The had power windows, locks, mirrors. A complete door was 105 pounds.

I picked up a set of manual doors from the junk yard. I cut out the crash bar and as much of the inner panel as I could and still keep enough for the window regulator to work. I installed a sheet of aluminum for the inner panel. Removed the mirrors. The door is now 70 pounds. I could shave more weight off it by removing the window regulator and the rest of the steel inner panel. Take out the glass and install Lexan.

I cut 70 pounds off the car just by changing the doors.

Even lighter is putting on fiberglass doors.

Although I don't have the weight of the car with the big block in it, when it had a small block and me in it, race ready it was 3045 pounds. No sense weighing the car without you. It doesn't race by itself. You need to know the total weight.

I've done painted my car so I'd hate to swapp doors.

I figure there would me a lot of time swapping to a row up window and manual locks.

I think I'm just going to cut out the crash bars for now.

with a full interior and a daily driver, I've cut the weight from 3480 to 3140. That's without me in it of couse.

I want to keep it looking stock so that puts limitations to it. I think I can cut it another 80 with da manual steering and crash bars.

You are going to cut out the crash bars of your daily driver? Doesnt sound like a good idea to me. I'd find somewhere else to remove the weight from.

I guess I'll correct that to it can be easily driven daily.
Now I just drive it on weekends
I agree it's not the best place to take away weight.

It's just hard to compete with 2900 lb ford coupe with a 351 Windsor. When you got a car that came out factory 3500lb with a 305.

I just about got the odds even. I'm down to 3140lb with a 400 tpi.
